A fun month ahead here at the shop!
New this month we will be hosting our first Clothing Swap on April 12. Fee to sign up is $15 and you are able to take home the same number of items that you brought (or less if your trying to downsize your closet :). Any left over items will be donated to Green Again For New Beginnings. Some guidelines we'll be following:
You must sign up in advance to reserve your spot, there are only 10 available
The theme of this swap is spring + summer clothes
Bring a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 clothing items
An additional 5 accessories or bags will be allowed
Please only bring gently used items that have been recently washed. Ensure you check all of your pockets beforehand!
Bring a tote to keep your finds safe + separate
Wear tights or a bathing suit so that you feel comfortable trying on any pieces if necessary
Clothing swaps are a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning and update your spring/summer wardrobe in a economical + eco-friendly way! It's also a productive excuse for a super fun girls night, hooray!
2. This month is also the second annual Roots North Music Festival here in Downtown Orillia. We'll be having the talented Lauren Campbell + Adam Cannon of The Common Laws Band play here in the shop (or weather permitting, outside) at 2:00 on Saturday April 23rd that you won't want to miss out on. There are so many amazing bands + musicians lined up this weekend so be sure to grab your weekend pass before April 1 to get the early bird special so that you can venue hop + check out all there is to see (details here)!
To make sure your festival attire is on par we are hosting a Festival DIY on Thursday April 21 at 6:30 where we will be making fun, festival-approved, statement necklaces. Decide between a combination of lace + fringe or use a faux beading technique to make a piece that will make your outfit pop! Fee is $35 to participate, remember to sign up in advance!
