We’ll be carving 3 separate stamps that, when used together, create a bunny + spring flowers. We’ll also experiment with using colour in the stamping process. Each participant will have access to black + blue ink. You will leave the workshop with your hand-carved stamp + two hand-stamped 5 x 6.5” greeting cards (and envelopes) made of quality paper. Paired with his classically trained, honey-voiced wife and bandmate Amy Jefferies, the couple harmonizes with an intimacy that whispers of many winter nights cozied up in a cabin, singing old folk tunes by the fire. BD Hughes of the Toronto Independent Music Awards describes their sound as "a unique mix of folk, rock, roots, experimental alt-country and jazz, all infused with brilliant songwriting and beautiful harmonies."

Tuesday April 25, 7:00-9:00
Forest Fairy Workshop w/ Sarah Apple
Come create your own forest fairy with Sarah Apple! Forest Fairies are the curious creatures created by the inspiring Sarah Csekey, aka Sarah Apple. A staple in the Orillia arts community, she has explored many artistic mediums + for the last year has created hundreds of these whimsical "fairies" to participate in community + personal projects, such as her 2016 Streets Alive Story Pole, her Advent Fairies Collection + current 365 Project. Through each stage in their creation, the fairies develop their own unique personalities, which Sarah encourages makers to use to "boost your spirits and warm your heart."
You will spend the evening being led through the process of creating your own mixed-media fibre creature + invoking the "forest spirits" to infuse your creation with your own secret intentions. In the end you will have a lovely new friend, with a back story, to name + take home. All materials will be provided. However, you are invited to begin your creative journey in the days leading up to the workshop by collecting inspiring materials (such as fabric scraps, natural fibres, various yarns + buttons) to incorporate into your fairy, if you so choose. There are 8 spots in this workshop, so don't delay! Sign up today. $40 + HST Price includes all materials + refreshments
Happy Crafting!
