Better late than never, right?! May was a wonderfully busy month getting ready for the shop's first sidewalk sale + the official grand opening! Both were a lot of fun, the rain held off + we had two beautiful sunny days to spend outside. Thank you to everyone who came to the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony or stopped by to wish us congratulations, it feels so incredible to be supported by family, friends, new faces + fellow business owners :)
There are 4 fantastic workshops lined up right into the beginning of July that I'm really excited about! These have all been requested this month so sign up quickly if you're interested to reserve a spot!

Wire Jewelry Workshop 6:30-7:30
Learn to make your own minimal + delicate rings and necklaces and be prepared to receive compliments galore! Choose from an assortment of beads to make your own classic styles that your friends won't even believe are made by hand. Streets Alive 'Story Poles in Downtown Orillia' Unveiling Festival
A few of our artisans are creating beautiful Story Poles for Streets Alive 2016 that I can't wait to see! Check out this colourful + happy kick off to an incredible artistic celebration here in town. Harold + Ferne will also have a booth on the street where we will be selling some of our favourite goods!

DIY T-Shirt Workshop 6:30-8:30
Learn how to easily make your own t-shirt! No sewing experience required! Please bring a tshirt of your own to base the pattern on (don't worry, we won't be cutting up your favourite tee!). If you have fabric of your own that you would like to bring then please do but there will also be a few different styles to choose from! Please sign up in advance to reserve your spot.
This workshop is perfect for patient creators who are interested in learning an easy hand sewing technique.

Mala Making Workshop 7:00-9:00
Join the lovely ladies from Purple Lotus here in the shop for a beginner mala making workshop. We hosted a private mala making party in May + it was such a success that we've asked them to come back once again. What is a mala? A mala is a string of beads used to count mantras (Sanskrit prayers) in sets of 108 repetitions. If you are seasoned in meditation or a beginner or would just like to make your own beautiful mala necklace, everyone will feel welcome in this guided course. Choose from different styles + a wide variety of stones, beads + charms to make a mala that suits you perfectly. If you already have a mala, you can make another as each mala is infused with a different intention. So join us for this wonderful experience, you'll learn a lot + have a wonderful time - we promise!
